The Art of Teaching and Learning with ePortfolios

Teaching about ePortfolios is central to my pedagogy and practice. An ePortfolio is a collection of student work showcased in the form of a website. We now use ePortfolios in all FRINQ classes and in many of our Capstone courses. Since 2007, I have worked extensively to evaluate and improve all aspects of our ePortfolio assessment and pedagogy with campus-wide groups such as the PSU library, the PSU English and Writing program, and the University Studies Program.  In future, we hope to expand our program to use ePortfolios across all four years of the University Studies Program. I am currently engaged in research on the use of ePortfolios on the PSU campus through a ReThink Grant which focuses on improving and deepening the use of ePortfolios at PSU. In July 2014, I traveled to Boston Massachusetts to attend and to present preliminary research at the Association for Authentic, Experiential and Evidence Based Learning (AAEEBL).

As Bret Eynon, Laura M. Gambino & Judith Török write in "What difference Can ePortfolio Make,"

"ePortfolio Initiatives advance student success

at a growing number of campuses with sustained ePortfolio initiatives, student ePortfolio usage correlates with higher levels of student success, as measured by pass rates, GPA, and retention rates."

I have another website that is devoted to this topic. To visit that website click
